Devon James, DC — Your Holistic Wellness Partner Whole-Body Healing, Tailored to You
I’m Dr. Devon James, a chiropractor with a holistic approach to health and healing. Rather than looking at a symptom in isolation, I look at the bigger picture: the nervous system, structure, nutrition, emotions, stress patterns, body systems, and the experiences that may be influencing how your body is functioning.
Every person is different, which means every session is different. My goal is to listen to what your body is communicating, uncover patterns that may be contributing to imbalance, and determine what it needs to move toward better function, resilience, and well-being.
Why Do Patients Call Me Their Favorite Doctor?
For Kids: Children hold a very special place in my heart. One of the most important parts of working with kids is earning their trust. I respect their boundaries, including their “no,” explain things in ways they can understand, and give them a voice in their own care.
Many of my pediatric patients have grown up in my practice. I’ve had the privilege of caring for children from infancy through elementary school, the teenage years, and beyond. That long-term relationship matters. By the time they are teenagers, I’m not simply another adult telling them what they should do, I’m someone they already know and trust and can talk to about what is happening in their bodies and their lives.
For Adults: Adults have described working with me as a “sigh of relief.” Many people come to me knowing that something doesn’t feel right but struggling to understand why.
I love looking for connections.
Instead of focusing only on the location of a symptom, I consider how different systems of the body may be communicating with one another and how structural, neurological, nutritional, emotional, hormonal, digestive, immune, and energetic patterns may be contributing to the bigger picture.
Sometimes the most important question isn’t simply, “Where does it hurt?” It’s “Why is your body responding this way?”
A Large Toolbox — and an Individualized Approach
Over the years, I have studied a wide range of chiropractic, neurological, nutritional, digestive, emotional, energetic, and body-based techniques. I don’t believe every person needs the same technique or the same protocol.
Instead, I draw from this extensive toolbox and use muscle testing, clinical assessment, and the body’s responses to help guide each session.
Depending on the individual, my work may incorporate:
Chiropractic Care Supporting the spine, joints, musculoskeletal system, and nervous system to improve movement, communication, and overall function.
Applied Kinesiology (AK) Using manual muscle testing alongside other clinical assessment methods to explore patterns of function and help guide individualized structural, nutritional, and body-system support.
Lebowitz Technique A muscle-testing-based approach with a strong focus on digestive and immune-system function. It explores patterns involving the gut, microbial balance, environmental stressors, nutrition, and other factors that may be placing stress on the body, helping guide individualized areas of support.
Total Body Modification (TBM) A whole-body system that uses muscle testing and specific reflex points to identify and address patterns involving structural, chemical, neurological, and emotional stress.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) A mind-body technique used to identify and help address physiological responses associated with unresolved stress and emotional patterns.
Creative Emotional Wizardry (CEW) A technique that explores emotional patterns, beliefs, experiences, and subconscious associations that may be influencing how the body responds to stress.
Bio-Dynamic Resonance (BDR) An energetic and body-based approach that works with the body’s responses and innate intelligence to identify patterns and support greater balance.
Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA) A muscle-testing system that uses specific reflex points on the body to help assess patterns and guide individualized care.
Quantum Neurology (QN) A neurological rehabilitation technique that uses specific sensory and neurological stimulation with the goal of supporting communication between the brain, nervous system, and body.
ThetaHealing A meditative and energetic technique that explores subconscious beliefs, emotional patterns, and deeply held associations with the intention of creating greater emotional and energetic freedom.
Mercier Therapy A specialized hands-on therapy focused on supporting pelvic mobility, circulation, and women’s reproductive and pelvic health.
My Own Integrative Work
After years of studying and practicing many different techniques, my work has naturally evolved beyond any single modality.
I often combine elements of the systems I’ve studied with my own approach to muscle testing and pattern recognition. I may explore relationships among the nervous system, emotions, structural patterns, organs and body systems, digestive and immune function, nutritional needs, hormonal pathways, past experiences, and energetic patterns.
Rather than deciding ahead of time what your body “should” need, I allow the information gathered during the session to guide where we go next.
Sometimes that means working structurally. Sometimes it means exploring nutrition, digestion, hormones, or another body system. Sometimes the nervous system or an emotional pattern becomes the priority. And sometimes several pieces that initially seemed completely unrelated begin to tell one larger story.
That curiosity is at the heart of how I practice.
Your Body Is More Than a Collection of Symptoms
My philosophy is simple: you deserve to be looked at as a whole person.
Your history matters. Your experiences matter. Your nervous system matters. Your physical body matters. And the way all of those pieces interact matters.
Whether I’m working with a newborn, a teenager, someone navigating chronic symptoms, a woman working through hormonal or reproductive changes, or an adult who simply wants to understand their body better, my goal is the same:
To listen, look deeper, connect the pieces, and help your body move toward greater balance.
Your care should be as individual as you are..

Cassidy Mangan
I’m Cassidy Mangan, PT, DPT, I studied Biology at Purdue University and later earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. I have had the great opportunity to see a variety of cases from orthopedic, neurological and pelvic floor conditions these past couple of years. I am passionate about the whole body approach and am not there to just assess that one area of pain you are experiencing, but I want to investigate how your whole body is playing a role in regard to your pain. I am very passionate about educating my patients on their pelvic health to allow someone to be more connected to their body. I find joy in building relationships with my patients to see where their goals lie so they feel comfortable to advocate for their own health. The health care system can feel frustrating and I hope I can provide a place where people feel listened to and taken care of. I have received my pelvic floor therapy continuing education from Herman and Wallace. Since then I have treated patients with a variety of conditions such as, incontinence, constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction, hypermobility, gender reassignment surgeries, etc. Since then I have realized that every patient is so different and I try to see them as an individual apart from their diagnosis to help me get to the root problem. I recently have been certified in Dry Needling from Integrative Dry Needling as well as Visceral Mobilization from Herman and Wallace, which have been nice tools to incorporate into sessions. I am always looking for new continuing education classes to build my knowledge base and provide my patients with better care. I look forward to serving the Hinsdale area and the Within Reach Healing Community.
Continuing Education Courses: - Herman & Wallace Pelvic Function Level 2A Colorectal Pelvic Health, Pudendal Neuraligia and Coccyx Pain

Julie Shramovich
My journey with yoga began more than 20 years ago, when I was in my mid-20s and searching for a way to quiet my busy mind, strengthen my body, and feel more grounded within myself.
At the time, I was a runner. I loved the release that running gave me, especially that feeling of calm and clarity that came after pushing myself and reaching that familiar “runner’s high.” But as a deep thinker and feeler, I knew I was looking for something more. I wanted a way to not only move my body, but to connect with my spirit, calm my nervous system, and find some quiet within an often very busy mind.
I found that on my yoga mat.
Over the years, yoga has become so much more than a physical practice for me. It has become a place where I can release the stressors of the day, slow down, breathe, reconnect with myself, and come back to the present moment. It has helped me find balance in my mind, body, and spirit and has given me a deeper awareness of who I am and what I need.
When I first started practicing, I was very focused on doing everything “right.” I wanted to improve, understand proper alignment, and feel like I was progressing with every practice. Over time, yoga taught me something very different: there is no perfect practice, and there doesn’t need to be.
Some days I feel strong. Some days I need to slow down. Some days I want to challenge myself, and other days I simply need to breathe. Learning to give myself grace on my mat has taught me to give myself more grace in life, too. I have evolved as a person in much the same way I have evolved as a yogi—learning to listen, reflect, surrender, and appreciate where I am rather than constantly focusing on where I think I should be.
Teaching From the Heart I have also been an elementary school teacher for 25 years, and I have come to realize how deeply my yoga practice has influenced the way I teach. Yoga has reminded me that every person comes to the mat with their own experiences, strengths, challenges, and needs. My students in the classroom are no different.
I truly believe in getting to know my students as individuals and meeting them where they are. I strive to create a comfortable environment where children feel safe to be their authentic selves, take risks, make mistakes, and develop a growth mindset. I want them to recognize their own growth, celebrate their successes, release some of the fear and anxiety that can come with learning, and take time to reflect on who they are becoming.
My yoga practice has changed the way I teach children, and it has also inspired me to bring that same philosophy to my yoga students.
I want you to feel good in your own body. I want you to celebrate the small victories, notice how you are growing, and understand that every practice will look and feel different. Most importantly, I want you to learn that sometimes we need to work hard and sometimes we need to surrender—to let go of expectations, quiet the inner critic, and simply be present.
My Practice My specialties are Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, practices that allow me to combine mindful movement, breath, strength, and presence. I love the way these practices can help us reconnect with our bodies while creating space in our minds.
I am also learning to fall in love with Restorative Yoga. There is something beautiful about beginning a week by slowing down, becoming still, and creating clarity for what lies ahead. Restorative practice has reminded me that rest is not something we have to earn—it is an important part of caring for ourselves.
As I continue to grow in my own practice, I hope to incorporate more restorative yoga and meditation into my teaching. I want to offer opportunities not only to move and strengthen, but also to pause, breathe, listen, and simply be.
By nature, I am a teacher. I am also someone who is deeply tuned in to the energy around me. I hope that my calm and patient presence creates a space where you can exhale, feel supported, and perhaps find a little more calm within yourself.
Life can be challenging, and I believe we all need places where we can feel connected, accepted, and free to simply be ourselves. My hope is to create that kind of community on the mat—a place where you can come exactly as you are, without judgment, and leave feeling a little more connected to yourself and to others.
I am passionate about nature, self-healing, meaningful connection, and the lifelong process of becoming more self-aware. Yoga has been such an important part of that journey for me, and I feel incredibly grateful to now share it with others.
I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Simply Yoga in Lemont, deepening both my knowledge and my personal practice. After more than two decades on my own mat, I am excited to help others discover what yoga can mean for them.
You don’t have to be flexible. You don’t have to have experience. You don’t have to get every pose “right.”
Just come as you are.
My hope is that, together, we can move, breathe, reflect, let go, and create a practice that feels like your own.
Because yoga isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about becoming more connected to the person you already are.
